Yukon Gear and Axle Backcountry Discovery Trip Presented by Mickey Thompson Tires

Image

A few weeks ago we got an invite from our friends at Yukon Gear and Axle to join them on a three day adventure trek through the state of Washington. This trail they had planned is known as part of the Backcountry Discovery Trail. It starts up in northern Washington, and makes its way all the way to the southern border. We started our trip in the small town of Packwood and immediately hit the trail to begin this 100+ mile journey. Yukon brought in a bunch of rad off road racers, builders, and a few other Yukon ambassadors to join our adventure. After a long first day of wheeling dusty trail, we made it to the town of “Ellensburg, WA” where we stayed in a hotel for the night and prepared for another day. Day two of trail brought us into the town of “Cashmere, WA”. During this stop, we were able to drive over and check out Washington’s very own Bavarian Town called “Leavensworth”. Highly suggest a visit there! Each day on the trail, we stopped somewhere amazing for lunch. One day was an overlook with a wild view, and the next was a tucked away reservoir that had wildlife all around it. Much of the trail we completed was up at high elevation on a ridge top. With views of three mountain ranges(including Mt. Rainer), this trail was for sure one of the more scenic adventures we’ve taken. We had a few small trail fixes to get done along the way, but overall this trip went smooth and as planned. We cant thank Neal and team Yukon enough for the invite and hospitality on this trip. Such a fun adventure to be part of, and it was absolutely perfect to end it at a beautiful home right on Lake Chelan! The water was warm and drinks were cold. It was great to meet some new faces and see a few familiar ones as well. We really had a great group of people all out here for the same thing… adventure off road with good company. Hopefully we can all get together and get another one of these going soon. Thank again Yukon Gear and Axle!
